Chrome Decor: How to Style Candle Holders and More

Leonie Deventer || Lesezeit: 3 Minuten

Natural, subtle colors make designs timeless. White, beige, brown, black – but also silver and chrome. Polished metal creates a clean look with a modern touch everywhere. This is both an advantage and a disadvantage. Because many people find it difficult to decorate chrome pieces without making them look too cool.

In this guide, we will tell you how to properly decorate table settings with chrome, which pieces are available for every room, and what to pay attention to when caring for them.

When chrome decor works – and when it doesn't

Polished metal reflects its surroundings. This makes chrome a material that visually adapts to the room. In candlelight, it looks warm and golden, while in a bright room, it looks clear and light.

The cool appearance that many associate with chrome usually occurs when it is decorated without contrast. A matte surface, such as wood, ceramics, and textiles, adds a certain coziness. Next to a cutting board or a matte ceramic bowl, the chrome look immediately appears warmer.

What to avoid: too many chrome objects in too small a space. Two polished accents set the tone. More quickly tips toward clinical.

Living room: Chrome candle holders

No chrome object brings together this exact contrast of a "cool look" and "warm effect" like a candle holder. The candlelight reflects in the polished surface and radiates back into the room. On a sideboard in the living room, this is one of the easiest ways to make silver decor look cozy. Especially in combination with houseplants or a bouquet of flowers in an organically shaped vase like our Poppy Vase.

Our chrome candle holders are made of 18/10 stainless steel – sturdy, rust-resistant, and dishwasher-safe. The velvet ring at the base prevents scratches on surfaces. For the candles, all standard-sized taper candles fit.

The design combines vintage-inspired proportions with a clear, modern understanding of form. With their characteristic yet minimalist silhouette, the candle holders fit into any interior. You can use the candle holders either as a single centerpiece in the small or large sizes or combine several in the same or different sizes.

Kitchen: Chrome in the coffee corner

In the kitchen, chrome is easiest to decorate. After all, we already find silver elements here through cutlery, kitchen faucets, and handles.

Our espresso and cappuccino cups in the chrome version – polished, without handles, inspired by the Italian demitasse – find their place in any coffee corner. Next to a cutting board made of wood fiber or a Jar made of glazed porcelain, the cups set clear accents. Clean, tidy, and timeless.

Tip from the Within Mood Team: Those who prefer to drink iced coffee in the summer can also complement their coffee corner with our Cold Cups in the same chrome look.

Dining room: Mood Circles as napkin rings and egg cups

On the table, chrome visually enhances every decoration. Our Mood Circles are made of the same 18/10 stainless steel as our candle holders. They follow our philosophy: "Why have only one function when a piece can also have multiple uses?" That is why our Mood Circles are egg cups and napkin rings in one.

For the polished surface, we like to choose textured fabric napkins. Linen in the summer, coarser weaves in the winter.

As egg cups, the Mood Circles fit best with a minimalist table setting that leaves enough space for large serving plates and classic tableware. In the middle of the table, a lush bouquet of flowers in our Tulip Vase – and the coolness of the chrome is broken.
