At Within Mood, we value practicality. That’s why our breakfast plates come in a set of six and also double as cake and dessert plates. With a diameter of 20 centimeters, these simple plates are large enough for a roll, scrambled eggs and a slice of cake, without taking up much space on the set table. Each plate is handcrafted from stoneware in a small workshop in Portugal. No two plates are exactly alike; small irregularities are a sign of genuine craftsmanship.
Stoneware that looks handcrafted
Stoneware is dense, robust and pleasantly heavy in the hand. Very different from thin porcelain. We chose this high-quality ceramic because it is also suitable for the microwave and oven at temperatures up to 220 °C and because the breakfast plates can be cleaned in the dishwasher. Since each cake plate is thrown individually, each one has its own small irregularities around the rim. This is not a flaw; it is craftsmanship that is meant to be seen and felt.
Not just for breakfast
Breakfast plates, yes, but the six plates in this set can do more:
- For breakfast: for rolls, scrambled eggs or fruit
- As cake plates: for coffee dates with guests
- As dessert plates: for the final course in the evening
- For small snacks: as plates for olives, nuts or cheese
